A Letter From McColl
“The most valuable thing in life is having God at the center of everything you do.”
I am a wife, a mother, a licensed cosmetologist, and someone who believes the most valuable thing in life is having God at the center of everything you do. Family is everything to me, and this business, doing makeup, hair, waxing, eyebrow tinting, isn’t just what I do, it’s who I am.
I make sure the space people walk into is safe and comfortable, because I never know what someone is going through once they leave my chair. I play gospel music while I work and I talk about God. He gave me this business and that is how I use my platform, to spread his word and to make people feel not just beautiful on the outside, but genuinely cared for.
I started at the very bottom, working out of my living room with barely a client to my name. Now I am booked every week and every weekend, working out of my own beauty room, with my sights set on a building of my own. I have my hometown to thank for that. This community showed up for me when I was just starting, and I have not forgotten it.
Never take what you have for granted. Appreciate the small things. Your small wins will turn into big wins, and before you know it, you will look up and realize you have become exactly who you were supposed to be.
Marlboro County is one big family. We might not always get along, but when it is time to show up and make a difference, we find a way. This place did not just shape my career, it showed me who I am.
